Hendrick Motorsports Building Training Facility
The difference between winning and losing can be measured in thousandths of a second, which is why NASCAR teams are serious about increasing the athletic ability and performance of their pit crews. Crew members race the clock and every second lost in the pits can equate to 100 feet of track. Human performance is crucial to every win which is why Hendrick Motorsports is building an outdoor pit crew training facility that will allow crew members to work out doing sprints and shuttle runs on a six-lane, 60 yard track. The facility will include a 75-yard Astroturf field and 40-by-40 foot sand pit solely dedicated to improve strength and conditioning. In the race against time the most explosive and conditioned crew has the winning edge.
